Professional Background

Dan has significant transactional experience advising a broad range of businesses in the field of real estate, construction and real estate development financing, mergers and acquisitions, competition, intellectual property, energy, and contract law. He takes the time to truly involve clients and incorporate their goals, concerns, values, and feedback.
Dan is the Leader of the Energy practice at PETERKA PARTNERS.
Prior to joining the firm, Dan acted as the head of the Romanian in-house legal team of an European real estate investment fund with a portfolio value of EUR 4.2 billion across Austria, Germany and CEE, and advised on complex real estate transactions as well as on ongoing asset management and operations concerning multiple jurisdictions (Romania, Moldova, Ukraine, Turkey, Croatia, Cyprus, and the Netherlands) and managed all aspects of corporate governance, regulatory compliance (including data protection), and commercial litigations.
Dan is also a member of the Romanian Chapter of the Executive Committee of the European Court of Arbitration and a member of the Romanian Arbitration Institute, where he focuses on domestic and international arbitration, both ad hoc and institutional, involving disputes in energy, construction, international distribution and joint ventures, and foreign investment.
Dan is a Romanian fellow of the Marshall Memorial Fellowship leadership development programme of the German Marshall Fund of the United States, which is committed to transatlantic engagement.
