As the legal representative of the Polish airline company LOT we participated in the hearing before the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) on 2 February 2022. In case no. C-597/20 a preliminary ruling is expected from the CJEU which the Public Administration and Labour Court of Budapest-Capital intend to apply in a lawsuit between LOT and the Government Office of Budapest, Hungary, regarding the Office’s practice of imposing penalties under local laws. The authority of the Office to impose penalties is disputed in individual cases. Advocate General will announce the opinion on 21 April 2022, and the decision of CJEU is awaited in the autumn 2022.
