While the amendments to the Bulgarian Data Protection Act are still pending, sanctions imposed for non-compliance with the GDPR are already a fact. A decision taken by the CPDP has proven that penalties for violations of the GDPR are already a reality despite the popular belief that such would not be imposed before the amendments to the local Data Protection Act come into force.
